Abstract

The Movement to Protect Religious Schools in Pakistan Religious schools, or madrassas, play an important role in Pakistan. They provide religious education, as well as moral and spiritual guidance. In the early 2000s, the Pakistani government attempted to regulate and secularize religious education. This moves angered supporters of madrassas, who launched the "Movement to Protect Religious Schools" in 2002.The movement led protests and demonstrations across Pakistan, and it successfully prevented the government from closing down madrassas. As a result, the number of madrassas in Pakistan has increased, and there has been a renewed interest in religious education. The Movement to Protect Religious Schools had several effects, including as a result of the movement, madrassas were allowed to continue their activities. This led to an increase in the freedom of madrassas. The movement played a key role in promoting religious education. As a result of the movement, the number of students enrolled in madrassas increased, and there was a renewed interest in religious educationThe movement also increased the political influence of religious schools. As a result of the movement, religious school leaders began to play a more important role in national politics. The Movement to Protect Religious Schools was a significant movement that had a major impact on Pakistan's religious and political life. The movement led to an increase in the freedom of religious schools, the promotion of religious education, and the political influence of religious schools.
