Abstract

The intertwining of mathematics and religion has been a subject of fascination and inquiry for scholars throughout history. In this paper, we embark on an introductory exploration of the mathematical concepts embedded within the verses of the Qurān al Karīm, the holy book of Islam. Through a meticulous review of Qurānic verses, we aim to elucidate the fundamental principles of numbers and mathematics as depicted in the sacred text. This paper scrutinizes verses that allude to numerical patterns, proportions, and geometrical constructs, discerning insights into the divine order inherent in the universe. Through a critical analysis of select passages, the paper uncovers the profound mathematical symbolism that underpins Qurānic teachings, shedding light on the intricate relationship between mathematics and spirituality. Furthermore, this paper serves as an introductory exposition, laying the groundwork for future research endeavors into the profound intersections between mathematics and religious scripture. By elucidating the mathematical concepts embedded within Qurānic verses, we hope to foster a deeper understanding of the spiritual dimensions of mathematics and the timeless wisdom enshrined in the Qurān.
