Abstract

The article presents an analytical study of Masnavi Maulana Jalalud’din Muhammad Rumi, a famous Sufi saint. His Sufi poetry remained a driving force for thousands of despaired hearts towards spirituality and Sufism. His literary works encompass various forms of artistic expression, including the art of allusion. These allusions played a pivotal role in making his poetry comprehensive and elevated while lending a sense of delicacy and gracefulness, ultimately manifesting as eloquence. In this article, poems from each part of Masnavi, which include a literary tool called talmih are selected for the analysis. Moreover, the article focuses on a particular version of talmihat, known as Talmihat-e-Hadith. An effort is made to source ahadith from Sihah shittah (six canonical hadith books); however, alternative sources are consulted and referenced in cases where hadiths were not found in the Sahihs.
